I The second coming events
1. Second coming of Jesus Christ
Revelation 19:11-21
19:11 And I
saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called
Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
19:12 His
eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a
name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
19:13 And he was clothed with
a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
19:14 And
the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine
linen, white and clean.
19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that
with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:
and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty
God.
19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING
OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun;
and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of
heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great
God;
19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and
the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them,
and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19:19 And
I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together
to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
19:20
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles
before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast,
and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of
fire burning with brimstone.
19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword
of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all
the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Revelation 22:11,12
22:11 - He
that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be
filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that
is holy, let him be holy still.
22:12 - And, behold, I come quickly; and my
reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Daniel 12:1,2
12:1 And at
that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the
children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was
since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people
shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
12:2
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting
contempt.
2. The 4 categories of men - the living righteous and the dead righteous, the living unholy and the dead unholy ones
2.1 the living righteous will be 'changed' and caught up in the clouds
1 Thesalonians 4:16,17
4:16 For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise
first:
4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54
15:51
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be
changed,
15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed.
15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and
this mortal must put on immortality.
15:54 So when this corruptible shall
have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then
shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in
victory.
Mathew 24:30,31
24:30 And
then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the
clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
24:31 And he shall send his
angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect
from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
2.2 the dead righteous will be resurrected in the first resurrection
1 Thesalonians 4:16,17
4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Revelation 20:4-6
20:4 And I
saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw
the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word
of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had
received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and
reigned with Christ a thousand years.
20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not
again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first
resurrection.
20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
2.3 the living unholy will be slain, and there will be no one left alive
Revelation 19:19-21
19:19 And I
saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together
to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Jeremiah 25:33
25:33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground
Luke 17:27,29,30
17:27
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until
the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them
all.
17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and
brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
17:30 Even thus shall it be in
the day when the Son of man is revealed.
2 Thesalonians 2:8
2:8 And
then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit
of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming:
2.4 the dead unholy stays dead
Revelation 20:5
20:5
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were
finished.
3. The righteous ones, get together on the heavens
John 14:1-3
14:1
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
14:2
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a place for you.
14:3 And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there
ye may be also.
1 Thesalonians 4:17
4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Revelation 20:6
20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
II The millennium of
1000 years
1. Satan 'chained' on the earth. there is
no one alive, except him, and his fallen angels.
Revelation 20:1-3
20:1 And I
saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a
great chain in his hand.
20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old
serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
20:3
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him,
that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be
fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
The saints are taken to heaven at the coming of Christ, and the wicked fall dead at His presence, to remain thus during the thousand years. Satan's occupation is gone; there is nothing left for him to do but to wander over the desolate earth, and view the terrible work of which he is the author. There is now no one for him to tempt, and he is therefore bound in his operations.
2. The righteous ones are on the heavens, judging the unrighteous ones
Revelation 20:4,6
20:4 And I saw thrones, and they
sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them
that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which
had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark
upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ
a thousand years.
20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand
years.
1 Corinthians 6:2,3
6:2 Do ye
not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged
by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
6:3 Know ye not that
we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this
life?
3. All the unrighteous are dead
Revelation 19:21
19:21 And the remnant were slain
with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his
mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Jeremiah 4:23-26
4:23
I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and
they had no light.
4:24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and
all the hills moved lightly.
4:25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and
all the birds of the heavens were fled.
4:26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful
place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the
presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
Jeremiah
25:33
25:33 And
the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto
the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor
buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
III After the 1000 years
1. The dead unrighteous are resurrected in the second resurrection
Revelation 20:5,6
20:5 But
the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.
This is the first resurrection.
20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in
the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall
be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand
years.
2. Satan 'released' to deceive again for a little time
Revelation 20:3,7,8
20:3 And
cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that
he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be
fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
20:7 And when
the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
20:8
And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the
earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is
as the sand of the sea.
3. End of the sin and the second death
Revelation
20:9,10,14,15
20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the
earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and
fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
20:10 And the devil
that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast
and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and
ever.
20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the
second death.
20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life
was cast into the lake of fire.
Malachi 4:1
4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
